What is stooping?
Stooping is the practice of sourcing and reusing usable items that would otherwise go to waste. At Stooping Club, all items are free and available for local pickup in Berkeley.
Are the items really free?
Yes! All items listed are completely free. There are no prices, fees, or purchases on our platform.
Where do items come from?
Items come from high-quality curbside finds and community donations. Our donors include individuals and organizations that are decluttering, moving, clearing excess inventory, or looking to give their belongings a second life instead of sending them to landfill.
Do you ship orders?
No. We operate on a local pickup–only basis. All items must be picked up in person in the Berkeley area.
How does pickup work?
Once you order an item, you'll receive pickup details from our team via text or email. Due to limited space, we hold orders for up to three days after pickup details are sent before relisting them if they are not picked up.
Is everything first come, first served?
Yes. Items are available on a first-come, first-served basis. To order an item, add it to your cart and complete checkout.
Is there a limit to how many items I can order?
There's no strict limit, but we encourage customers to be mindful so as many people as possible can benefit.
Can I resell items from Stooping Club?
No. Items are for personal use or gifting only and may not be resold. Reselling undermines fairness and limits access for others.
Do you accept returns?
Because all items are free, all orders are final and we don't accept returns. We encourage customers to review photos and descriptions carefully before ordering. If there's an issue with an item, feel free to reach out and we'll do our best to help.
What if an item is no longer available?
Items are removed from our platform once they've been successfully ordered. If you see an item listed, it's likely still available, but availability isn't guaranteed until checkout is complete.
What condition are the items in?
All items are quality pre-owned, used, or open-box, and we do our best to ensure everything we list is functional and in good, usable condition.

How often do you add new inventory?
We add new inventory weekly. Check back often or follow us to stay updated on the latest additions.
Can I donate items?
Absolutely! We accept gently used or new household items that are still usable. We reserve the right to decline items that we're unable to accept.
Do you accept large items (like furniture)?
We don't store large items, but in some cases we can list them on our website. If someone orders your item, we'll help connect you so it can be picked up directly from your location.
